TEN YEARS OF BALTIC PRESENCE IN THE EU AND NATO

Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are three Baltic States that we may not hear a lot about for now but as they continue their progress in the region and strengthen their position in the European Union, it is sure that we will be hearing of them more and more in the future. 
2004 was a turning point in the history of the European Union as it welcomed four new members which were part of the Eastern Bloc once upon a time. This move proved to the world that the EU was starting to embrace Europe as a whole and that the Eastern Bloc countries were more than ready for a change in their old ways.As the three countries celebrate their 10th anniversary of joining the EU and NATO, the importance of the presence of these two organizations have come to surface once again with the crisis going on in Ukraine and Russia’s behavior in this situation whom are neighbors to the Baltic region.
